Easy Date Caramel Sauce

In the mood for a quick, easy, vegan and delicious caramel sauce that you indulge guilt-free? Then you need to try out this amazing date caramel recipe! Not only does it taste like happiness in your mouth, dates are also highly nutritious and packed with fibre and antioxidants.


1 cup dried dates (pitted)

1 cup hot water

4 Tbsp coconut oil (melted)

1/4 tsp sea salt

Pinch of vanilla powder



  1. Soak the dates in the hot water for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add your dates, half of the soaking water, coconut oil, salt and vanilla into a blender / food processor. Blend together, and add more water if needed, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into jar, and store in the fridge. Use your date caramel to drizzle over a warm bowl of oats, stir into yoghurt, add into your tea, coffee or latte, mix into a smoothie, spread over toast or muffins or enjoy straight from the jar!

Can’t find date syrup anywhere at the moment so might have to make this instead :). Looks tasty! And easy :).
